Now Senior Advisor to Messis Finance, Elie Auriac was Chief Executive Officer from the firm’s inception in 2007 until mid-2016. He held the development of Messis Finance, establishing the firm as a well-recognized M&A consultancy house on the French market.

With more than 25 years of investment banking experience, Elie began his career in 1974 with group CIC Finances before joining Lazard in 1990 to develop mid-cap advisory activities, first at a regional level in Strasbourg and then on a national scale based in Paris. He joined the Unigrains group in 2006 with a view to creating a M&A advisory practice which became Messis Finance several months later.

Elie Auriac’s track record at Messis Finance stands out by the number of advisory projects carried out for the benefit of family and cooperative groups. The most significant of such assignments were adviser to the Vandemoortele group in the acquisition of LAG, the Italian leader in frozen bakery (2015), the equity and debt restructuring of the Pierre Schmidt Stoeffler group (2015), the sale of family group Neuhauser to Soufflet (2014), the sale of Roland Monterrat to MBO Partenaires (2013), the sale of Natural Distribution to Argos Soditic (2013) and the sale of Arrivée-Maître Coq to LDC (2009). He also advised on the acquisitions of Cooperl Arc Atlantique (2009, 2011 and 2013), as well as on the fundraising of the Invivo group within the context of its takeover bids and buyout offers on Evialis, now known as Neovia.
